Coordinates and manages the on-going support staff activities of the Decorah office, meeting the needs of the professional faculty and students.
Primary responsibilities of the position include coordinating the recruitment of students from a specific geographical region, visiting targeted high schools, and attending select college fair programs. Duties also include interviewing prospective students on campus and assisting with other admissions-related activities and events as assigned. Extensive, primarily weekday overnight travel up to fifteen weeks in the fall and twelve weeks in the spring is required. Must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends for scheduled group events and rotating primarily Saturday office coverage.
This position is responsible for coordinating the student learning and community and personal development programs in Farwell, Larsen, and Olson Halls during the academic year.
During the spring this position will report to the Associate Director of Campus Programming for 6-8 hours a week to assist with hiring and training summer staff along with preparations for summer programs. During the summer months this position will work full-time as the Summer Housing Director.
The Associate Athletic Trainer will assist the Head Athletic Trainer with the responsibilities of managing the athletic training services with the understanding of current NCAA DIII and NATA policies and procedures. This position will also include teaching nutrition classes.
The Career Coach and Internship Manager is a full-time position, reporting to the Director of the Career Center, and providing individual and group career coaching for students and alumni, helping them throughout the career development process from building self awareness to exploration of opportunities to effectively landing jobs. This individual will also manage the logistics of Luther’s internship program and provides administrative support to the office and Career Center Director.
The custodial staff assists in maintaining building appearance which consists of all areas including lobbies, entrances, classrooms, offices, hallways, break rooms, auditoriums, conference rooms, staircases, study lounges, restrooms, and shower rooms.
The Dean of Student Engagement position is a crucial part of a reimagining of the academic affairs and student life structure at Luther College. The Dean will report to the newly created Provost position. The Dean will have oversight of seven units and will lead a staff of 35 with seven direct reports, including the Assistant Dean and Director of Residence Life, Associate Dean & Director of Case Management, Director of Wellness, Director of Student Activities, Director of Student Health Services, Director of Counseling Services, and Administrative Assistant and Coordinator of Student Services. In addition, the Career Center and Safety and Security have a dotted line of collaboration back to the Dean.
The development officer serves as an ambassador of the College with responsibility to build and develop long-term, donor-centric relationships built on a firm understanding of the donor’s interest, passions, and values. The primary objective of the officer is to advance the mission of the College by planning and implementing a program to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospective donors with major and planned gift potential in support of Luther’s fundraising initiatives and institutional priorities.

Operate the Luther College Heating Plant in such a manner as to provide a constant uninterrupted supply of steam to the Luther campus and perform this service at all times in a safe method to insure personal safety and safety to all Luther College personnel, students and visitors.
Perform all types of building maintenance and repair that is generated from the Facilities Services work order system. Most work will be related to the various electrical systems on campus, from three phase primary voltages to low voltage control systems. Work will be meet NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards.
Responsible for timely and accurate preparation and production of all campus payrolls and associated reporting.
The Recent Graduate Internship is designed to provide an in-depth experience in two areas of international education—off-campus programs advising/administration and international student services—coupled with significant responsibilities in Residence Life to a recent Luther graduate. The Intern will serve in this paid internship for one 9 1/2-month academic year. By the conclusion of the internship, the Intern will have acquired the knowledge, skills, and experiences beneficial for entry into a graduate program focused on international education, entry-level work in education abroad or international student services, or graduate studies or employment in residence life/student life.
The intern will report to three different Luther offices and will be able to immerse themselves in a variety of valuable, hands-on college administrative processes and practices. Although time devoted to any specific area will vary depending on the needs of each office at any given time, the general workload is as follows: Center for Global Learning (20-hours per week); Residence Life Office/Olson Hall Manager (10-hours per week); Center for Intercultural Engagement and Student Success (CIES) (10-hours per week).
In addition to responsibilities in the CGL and CIES, the intern will also serve as the Olson Hall Manager and live in the Olson Hall apartment. This is a live-in position.
The Social Media Specialist is responsible for managing, creating and publishing relevant, original and high quality social media content for the main Luther College accounts in line with the overall marketing strategy. This position will be responsible for assisting in the creation and implementation of critical marketing campaigns and brand strategies to build brand awareness and increasing public reach for Luther College. This position works collaboratively with other departments and offices across the campus to develop, edit and deploy content from Luther College and its personnel to the public through social media platforms
Christmas at Luther seeks a Stage Manager to work behind-the-scenes during rehearsals and performances, communicating with the control booth and assisting with the logistical flow of the performance.
Periodic orientation and planning meetings at dates and times to be determined. Afternoon and evening hours beginning approximately November 28 through December 5. This contracted services position is paid through stipend and is temporary and seasonal, with no guarantee of future appointment. May combine this position with that of Technical Director.

The annual series of Christmas performances at Luther College, Christmas at Luther, is seeking a creative, flexible, and knowledgeable individual to serve as Technical Director. Working closely with the Artistic Director and Production Manager, the desirable candidate would possess a background in the technical aspects of theater (such as lighting, sound, video, and scenery), while collaborating with the larger team toward an effective and impactful production.
Commitments begin as soon as possible with planning meetings that will continue into the fall, culminating in multi-hour days and evenings of set up, rehearsal, and performance from approximately November 22 through December 5. This contracted services position is paid through stipend and is temporary and seasonal, with no guarantee of future appointment. May combine this position with that of Stage Manager.
Temporary security officer will be responsible for duties similar to regular security officers. Position will begin as soon as feasible and continue for an indefinite period of time. Schedule hours will generally be 4 pm to midnight or 2 am but the overnight and day shifts may be available on occasion. Must be willing to work weekends. The number of hours per week may be negotiable.
Security officers provide for the safety and security of people and property on the Luther campus. Officers perform multiple tasks including random patrol of building and grounds on foot and by vehicle to deter and detect criminal activity and other conduct issues with an emphasis on prevention. Officers investigate criminal activity, maintain order, secure buildings, and respond to emergency and routine calls for service, all in an attempt to create a safe secure environment conducive to learning. Good communication, problem solving and customer service skills are essential for this position.
