Luther College seeks applications for an Assistant Professor of Nursing, with expertise in medical/surgical nursing to be part of our thriving nursing program. This is a five year term position to begin late August 2021; with annual reviews and opportunity for continuing terms.
Teaching responsibilities include medical/surgical nursing didactic, in addition to corresponding clinical coordination and teaching. Other courses may be assigned by the department head. This teaching load is spread over the fall, January, and spring terms and is geographically located in Rochester, Minnesota with clinical teaching at Mayo Clinic Rochester. Additional responsibilities include departmental/committee work, student recruitment and student advising (after first year). Occasional shared travel to the Luther College campus in Decorah, IA is expected.
Qualifications: A Master’s degree in nursing is required; Doctoral degree is preferred. Successful applicants will demonstrate potential for excellence in college teaching and a commitment to the liberal arts. Position requires clinical nursing experience; experience teaching baccalaureate nursing is preferred. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Iowa and Minnesota or ability to obtain by time of hire is required.
