This position is a one-year, non-tenure track position; possibility of renewal for up to a term of three years.
BEGINNING DATE: Late August 2014
QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D./Th.D. preferred at time of appointment; exceptional ABDs will be considered (Instructor rank). Teaching experience required. Specialization may be in Hebrew Bible or New Testament. The successful candidate will have enthusiasm to teach introductory biblical studies courses and other undergraduate courses in biblical studies and religion. We are seeking a candidate who enriches our current faculty’s interests and expertise and who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching, research, and service.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Full-time teaching load is three courses fall term, one course January term, and three courses spring term. Teach five sections of introductory biblical studies plus two additional courses designed according to interest and college need. Active engagement in scholarship and advising also expected.

RELIGION DEPARTMENT: The Department of Religion has 11 full-time equivalent faculty and offers a major and minor. The College requires all students to complete one course in biblical studies and a second course in religion. Normal class size is twenty-five students.
